As a small business leader, you wear many hats – business development, sales, marketing, accounting, and more. You’ve probably noticed that some of those tasks are challenging, like you’re not naturally good at them. That’s totally normal; you’re not alone with those feelings!

Or, maybe you have a team of employees who do the core parts of their jobs well, but there are skills they’re not quite good at. This happens all the time. It’s hard (OK, nearly impossible) to find one person who is good at everything.

If either of these situations sound familiar, now is a good time to explore expanding your team, delegating or collaborating with a local service provider who can fill skill gaps or manage specific tasks for you.

Try outsourcing these tasks

What kind of things do you need help with in your small business? This list is just a sampling of the many tasks that can be outsourced or delegated:

  • Business advice on strategic planning, leadership, human resources, transitions, and when to incorporate or form an LLC to protect your personal assets
  • Bookkeeping and accounting: assistance with day-to-day accounts receivable and accounts payable (AR/AP) tasks, cash flow management, taxes and payroll, guidance on the big picture and setting up financial systems
  • Professional editing and proofreading of business letters and documents you’ve written
  • Done-for-you copywriting of blog articles, corporate letters, content for your website and promotional materials
  • Website technical support, including adding new pages and images, refreshing SEO keywords or developing an entirely new website
  • Recruitment advertising: help writing job summaries that get the attention of job candidates, posting ads online
  • Social media management: creating content and managing your brand on digital media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn
  • Email marketing campaigns that consistently reach consumers
  • Graphic design: logo development and branding, business card design, brochures, advertisements for publications
  • Marketing consulting for strategic planning and launching new products and services

Consider getting free advice, too
