Whatcom and Skagit County businesses have a new, no-cost way to gain exposure, attract new customers and support local journalism—all by joining a growing community discount program called Cascadia One Pass™.
Cascadia One Pass™ is a paid subscription program that gives members access to exclusive deals at participating local businesses. Members activate discounts through the One Pass™ app (only for iPhone XS or newer, iOS 17+, not available for Android users at this time) by showing a one-time code at checkout or copying the code for online use.
For businesses, there’s no fee to join. That’s right—no cost. Zip, zero, nada.
All that’s required is a special offer—such as a discount, bonus item or other perk—to include on the passholder website.
Examples of current offers include:
- 10% off food and beverages
- $5 off a retail purchase
- Buy one, get one free
Once listed, your business will be featured on the Cascadia One Pass™ website with a logo, description and a direct link to your site. You’ll also get four free ads in a special section of CDN’s print edition. It’s an easy, low-effort way to reach locals and visitors who are actively looking to purchase from local businesses.
By participating, you’ll support Cascadia Daily News, the locally owned newsroom that launched the program. Revenue from the subscription-based pass helps fund high-quality journalism that serves our region.
Who can become a partner?
Cascadia One Pass™ is open to retailers, restaurants, recreation businesses, wellness providers, nonprofits and more. If you serve customers in Whatcom or Skagit County and can provide a consistent offer valid for at least six months, you qualify.
Some of BPRC’s favorite local businesses are already part of Cascadia One Pass™, including Pickford Film Center, Garden Spot Nursery, Hardware Sales, Lombardi’s, Overflow Taps, and more.
Why it’s worth it:
- No cost to participate
- Free exposure to an engaged, local audience
- Simple setup and no tracking tools required
- Supports independent journalism in Northwest Washington
